English

Field visits are one of the methods of geography education that allows students to directly observe and interact with geomorphological landforms. Such exploratory learning with active and purposeful participation of students not only provides attractiveness and objectification of course topics, but also leads to meaningful learning and acquisition of practical geography skills. Therefore, planning scientific visits to nature as a large laboratory is essential for geography education students. This descriptive-analytical research examines the diversity of geomorphological landforms in the Talar River watershed and its impact on the field education of geography teachers. In this study, quantitative and qualitative methods were used for a comprehensive analysis of the subject. The data required for this study were prepared from library resources, field visits, and shapefiles of various watershed maps in ArcMap software. The findings of the study showed that scientific visits to the Talar River watershed played a very important role in teaching and introducing landforms, ecological capabilities, land use planning, and hazards to students, and established an effective scientific connection with the theoretical units of the undergraduate course.
