An Investigation on Land Efficiency for Rehabilitation of Watersheds

Authors
Abstract
Integrated watershed management as a management method based on sustainable use of environmental resources can have an important role on reducing damages and improving necessary conditions to rehabilitate watersheds across the country. Watershed management is known as one of the basic procedures of protecting optimum management of natural resources that provide required conditions using all of the mechanical, biological and management activities over the watersheds to improve socio-economic condition of stakeholders by sustainable use of resources. Watershed land uses and their changes significantly affect soil and water conservation/loss, and, therefore, should be taken into account in the process of study, management  and project implementation. Analyzing and evaluating land use change by taking different opportunity costs to conservation, forestry and rangelands in study area would be an effective economic decision making on this basin. Making strategic recommendation along with some practical implications for decision and policy making in the study area and expending it to other watersheds of the country is expected.
